The first week of June has passed and the harvests are becoming more summer-y. Every other day, I get to eat a handful of fresh strawberries. They usually don’t make it to the house. They taste really sweet despite the lack of sunshine we had last week.
The snow peas keep coming but only by the handful for now. Over the weekend I harvested enough for one person, let’s hope it increases to a two-person portion this week.
We also ate lettuce, radishes and herbs from the garden. More to come next week, I guess. See you then!
Your strawberries and snow peas are so pretty. It looks like you’re having a lovely spring.

We have, actually! We haven’t had any frost since March and it has rained enough.
I consider myself lucky though, the rest of the country has had way too much rain the last weeks, resulting in terrible floods!

I love strawberries fresh from the garden, and yours are lovely! Many of my snow peas never make it inside.

Thanks, Dave! it’s like tomatoes, I just love them when they’re almost warm from the sun! I don’t get those people who put strawberries in the fridge!

A lot of my strawberries never make it out of the garden either, but my husband noticed them ripening the other day so I had to share…

I wouldn’t be able to make it far with those strawberries either- they look delicious!

Thanks! At the beginning of the season, it’s my special treat. Gardener’s privilege 🙂

Beautiful strawberries and peas – I’m still a few weeks away from either of those. That’s how most harvests start…with a trickle. Then, if we’re lucky, they speed up and we start wondering how on earth are we going to eat all of that 🙂

Exactly! It’s even worse with summer squash. I get so excited when I harvest the first few squash and only weeks later you seem to drown in them
