Afgelopen week begon met de eerste vrieskou. Behoorlijk onverwachts want volgens het weerbericht zou het bij ons niet gaan vriezen. Ik was dus helemaal niet voorbereid en ik hield mijn hart vast toen ik dinsdag zag hoe bevroren alles wel was…

Het viel al bij al wel mee. De resterende kropsla was echter wel voor de kippen want die was na het ontdooien wat snotterig geworden. Gelukkig konden we wel nog spinazie oogsten samen met wat kroppen andijvie. Ik oogstte ook een indrukwekkende knolselder, bijna zo groot als een pingpongballetje!

Passed week started with the first frost. Pretty unexpected because it would not be freezing in our area, according to the weather service. I was not prepared for the first hard frost and was a bit anxious.

But all in all, it wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be. Some salads were for the chickens, they were a bit snotty after the frost. Luckily I was able to harvest a good amount of spinach and some endives. I also harvested an impressive celeriac, about the size of a golf ball!
